From March 27 to 29, 2026, meetings were held in the city of Kyzylorda between Zh.B. Mominbayev, Director of “Modern Innovative Technologies” LLP, and N.S. Baikadamov, Rector of Korkyt Ata University, as well as M.A. Buribayeva, Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations. The discussions focused on the restoration of the Aral Sea ecosystem and the development of scientific and practical cooperation in combating desertification.
During the meetings, the parties reviewed prospects for implementing pilot projects aimed at restoring degraded lands, including the introduction of modern agricultural technologies and scientifically grounded solutions designed to improve soil resilience and reduce water stress.
Special attention was given to the involvement of the T.D. Kuanyshbayev Scientific and Educational Center for Chemical and Biological Research in the project. The center can provide scientific support, conduct research, and build an evidence base for further scaling of the proposed solutions.
The parties confirmed their mutual interest in developing long-term cooperation aimed at establishing a sustainable model for restoring the Aral Sea region and enhancing the environmental safety of the region.
