Study Tour to Vienna

In October 2024, a study tour took place in Vienna, Austria, organized by the OSCE and the Global Women’s Network for the Energy Transition (GWNET), aimed at strengthening the leadership roles of women from Central Asia in the renewable energy sector. Among the 15 selected participants was Aruzhan Mominbayeva, a manager at TechnoGroupService.

The program began with discussions on key issues of the energy transition in a series of meetings with OSCE ambassadors. A highlight of the tour was the invitation to the French Embassy, where participants discussed international initiatives with France’s Ambassador to the OSCE, Ms. Faten Ben Abdel-Foet. The study tour also included leadership training sessions designed to enhance management skills in response to the growing demand for sustainable energy solutions.

The technical segment of the program featured visits to Austria’s national electricity grid operator, APG, and the 172 MW Freudenau hydropower plant on the Danube River. These visits provided participants with valuable practical insights into the operations of renewable energy infrastructure.

Before departing for Hamburg, where Aruzhan delivered a presentation at the Sustainable Finance Forum, she also attended the 7th Vienna Dialogue on Energy Security. Discussions on inclusivity, energy efficiency, and the role of education in energy security, led by experts, formed an integral part of the event.

Aruzhan Mominbayeva’s participation in this project underscores her commitment to the development of renewable energy and highlights her importance as a professional ready to lead transformations on both regional and global levels.
